Welcome To Timbavati Wildlife Park!

Posted May 13, 2019 in Uncategorized

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog. Spring is warming up and it’s time to rest those winter coats. We naturally spend more time outside when the weather is nice and honestly Timbavati Wildlife Park is an excellent place to come and stretch your legs. If you haven’t been here before, here’s what you’re missing. Ok that said here’s a quick recap of the areas in the park. When you walk through the front gate at Timbavati Wildlife Park and pass the ticket booth you land right in the middle of the Waterfalls Area. This area is home to…

Posted April 29, 2019 in Uncategorized

Greetings friends and welcome to the opening week of Timbavati Wildlife Park and the start of our summer season, we think?!?! The snow last weekend capped off the end to a winter that just doesn’t seem to want to go away. That has actually been a theme all winter. Every year we plan to bring you all new and entertaining attractions in Timbavati Wildlife Park and this year is no different. We have made a lot of improvements to the park, due to a brutal March we have a few things still under construction, to me though that’s the best…

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog. It’s the middle of April but it’s been looking a lot like January with all of the snow that we’ve had this past week. April snow makes a May rose I guess ha ha ha. We’re just 12 days away from the Opening Day of our General Admission Season, that’s right April 27th is the big day. In our past few blogs we have been looking at the different areas of Timbavati Wildlife Park and this week we are looking at The Woodlands Area. The Woodlands Area like every other area in…

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog post. Spring is in full swing and it’s almost time for our opening day for general admission. The last couple of weeks we have been covering different areas of Timbavati Wildlife Park. Today we’re taking a look at the Waterfalls Area. The Waterfalls Area has its name because guess what, it’s filled with waterfalls. I mean this is the water park capital of the world right? So this part of the park is filled with them as the falls and rock work form the background of one of the most unique personal…

Greetings friends and welcome to April 2019! Wooo that’s right this rock has already completed a quarter of this year’s orbit around the sun. Today of course is April Fools’ Day so I want you to be mindful of the pranksters out there telling you that your shoes are untied ok? All jokes aside, the Grasslands Area of Timbavati Wildlife Park offers a seriously great time for people of all ages. The Grasslands Area is open during our general admission season which begins at the end of April. This area is home to our signature Giraffe and Camel feeding encounter.…

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog post. This is a super exciting time of year for us because we’re only about six weeks away from the start of our summer season. In the next few weeks leading up to opening day we will be taking a look at all of the different areas of the park and what their general offerings are. Before we dig in I am inclined to remind you that the species of animals and their locations within Timbavati Wildlife Park are subject to change without notice. With that said, let’s take a look at…

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog post. It’s almost spring! Yeahhhhhh. The winter is letting up and the snow banks are melting, cabin fever is coming to a close and the sunshine helps all of us grow. One animal that grows really big is the kudu. The Kudu is a type of antelope from the more arid parts of Africa. A Greater Kudu stands 4 to 5 feet in height and males can weigh anywhere from 500 to 700 pounds. Females weigh anywhere from 400 to 500 pounds. In contrast a lesser Kudu stands 3 to 4 feet…

Timbavati Wildlife Park Talking Camels

Posted March 11, 2019 in Uncategorized

Greetings and salutations dear friends and welcome to this weeks blog! Seems as if we’re right in the middle of winter and springs annual tug of war as we set the clocks forward last weekend and prepare for the big thaw. One creature who is at home in almost any climate is the camel. We often think of the camel as a hot desert animal. The desert gets very cold at night also. Camels are built Ford tough LOL. There are two kinds of camels. Dromedary (Arabian) camels have one hump. Bactrian (Asian) Camels have two. The largest myth about…

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog post. By my calculation we only have 3 weeks of winter left before the weather breaks. That is of course if you listened to Punxsutawney Phil that is. The groundhog never saw his shadow so winter of course is almost over. No matter how long the frozen season lasts, one thing is for sure. We’re going to be open (minus major holidays), and the animals will be here too. This week we take a look at one of the mighty antelope that we have living in Timbavati Wildlife Park, the eland. The…

When Is It A Tortoise And Not A Turtle?

Posted February 18, 2019 in Uncategorized

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog. I was sitting around and thinking to myself, “Self, When is a turtle not a tortoise or vice versa? Then self said to me “well you have that really killer video clip of Ashley explaining the large fundamental differences between the two” and myself was right! Ok I am kidding but I do have the clip and it does give us some fundamental differences. The largest one of course being the difference between being able to swim or not. Tortoises dwell on land. There are a great many other differences between them…
