Ziggy The Skunk of Timbavati Wildlife Park

Ziggy The Skunk of Timbavati Wildlife Park

Posted July 31, 2017 in Uncategorized

Ahh yes, a day in the life of Ziggy! Who is ziggy? Well I am glad you asked. The Zigster is our resident skunk at Timbavati Wildlife Park. For me, Ziggy is a glimpse of the impossible becoming a reality. I mean let’s think about this for a minute. We have a skunk named Ziggy that you can get up close and personal with. I don’t think that’s something that most of us experience in life with any degree of entertainment. Since the beginning of time, encounters between man and skunk have been frequent and I do not believe that…

Greetings friends and welcome to this week’s blog about our Train Station Update. Before we get into that, we hope you’re all enjoying the middle of summer and soaking up as much sun as you possibly can. We all know that the summer season can come and go with a gust of wind and a wee bit of precipitation. The changing of the season is a big deal for us at Timbavati Wildlife Park, probably more so than most attractions in the Wisconsin Dells. Our New Zebra Foal Firecracker!

Our New Zebra Foal Firecracker!

Posted July 16, 2017 in Uncategorized

That’s right ladies and gentlemen our zebra foal that was born on the 4th of July is a boy. Firecracker is one of our newest residents in the park and we needed to make sure both baby and mom were comfortable before we went in and gave him a check up. That’s an interesting thing about a baby zebra and mom. When the baby is born, the mom will keep baby close and away from the herd. This will allow the baby to become more familiar with the sights, sounds and smells of mom. The foal will begin to walk…

Throughout the day at Timbavati Wildlife Park we have Wildlife Presentations. These presentations take place in our interaction area and are a great educational experience for the entire family. Our Wildlife Presentations have fan favorites like our sloth, anteater and baby kangaroos. Our professional animal handling staff really dig into details that reflect their level of education and experience with the animals in the park. It also shows the amount of trust that the animals and staff have developed for each other. The care and attention given to all of our animals on a daily basis is really reflected in…

Zebra Foal: Boy or Girl? The Great Debate

Zebra Foal: Boy or Girl? The Great Debate

Posted July 7, 2017 in Uncategorized

At Timbavati Wildlife Park We had the pleasure of having a new zebra foal named Firecracker born in the park on the 4th of July! The burning question that everyone asks is what gender is the new zebra foal. The answer is!!!!!!!!! We don’t know lol and there’s a reason why! Mother Knows Best When a baby zebra is born there is a nursing and bonding period that the new foal shares with its parents. During this period as long as the foal is healthy, there’s a hands off approach to the newborn. It’ll take a little bit yet to…

Greetings friends and Happy 4th of July weekend to you all. I know it’s Monday but if you saved a vacation day or two, you’re able to parlay this weekend into a 4 day long event.
