What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, American Express, Discover, and MasterCard payments, and, of course, cash. This information can be found on the front page of the site. 

How long are the park passes good for?

When you arrive at the park and get checked in, the passes are valid for the entire day. 

Will weather affect the outdoor activities?

Depending on the severity. If there is thunder and lightning, then outdoor activities will be postponed until the rain clears up. 

Are the animals in the petting zoo aggressive?

Our animals are trained thoroughly. Guests are told beforehand to approach the animals calmly before feeding and petting them as to not make them feel threatened. 

What is your refund policy?

Approved refunds will only be distributed if you show a receipt of purchase.

How long does it take to go through the Park?

Timbavati Wildlife Park has a lot to offer; you could easily make your adventure last an entire day.  We find that most of our guests are in the park for three to five hours.

Do groups need to make reservations? Minimum group?

With a group of 20 or more, you can receive special pricing.  We recommend that you contact our Groups Office to schedule your visit and take advantage of our group offers.

Do I have to specify the date I am visiting when purchasing tickets online?

No, you do not have to schedule your visit with us. We do suggest that you check our website before you visit for park hours, promotions, and available activities as these change seasonally.

May I leave and return during my visit to Timbavati?

Yes, when you arrive to the park for the day, a ticket will be given to everyone in your party. This will allow you to leave and re-enter the park for the entire day.

Can I rent a stroller or wheelchair?

Wheelchairs (non-motorized) are available for rent at $10 per day.

Can I bring my own stroller? Are there any stroller restrictions?

You are more than welcome to bring your own stroller(s) and/or wagon(s).  Depending on the size of your stroller, some restrictions may apply.

Is the train wheelchair accessible?

Timbavati’s Safari Train is not wheelchair accessible.

Is there an ATM machine at Timbavati?

Yes, the Park does have an ATM in the Gift Shop and the Ticket Booth.

Do you have a picnic area?

Yes, we do. We have a picnic area available outside of the park. Carry in food is not permitted. We also have covered pavilions that are available for reservation. Please contact our office for more information about reservations.

Does Timbavati have a lost and found?

Yes, we do.  It is located in our administrative office.

Do I have to make reservations for the Wildlife Education Theater?

No, you do not.  It is recommended that you find a seat about five minutes before showtime. We do suggest that you check our website before you visit for activity times, as these change seasonally. Wildlife Presentations are offered May-October, weather permitting.

Tours – Do you offer them?

Yes. Timbavati Wildlife Park offers a “VIP-Behind The Scenes Tour.” The VIP tour features a personal guided interaction with multiple animal species. This tour is designed for to parties of up to five people and is approximately an hour and a half in length. Please call for pricing on additional guests.

Tours must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance by calling 608-253-2391.

What types of animals are in the Petting Areas?

As the seasons change and the cycle of life renews, our animals in the Interaction Area change as well.

Does the park close during the winter?

We are open seven days a week, year round. We do not have general admission hours outside of our summer season. We offer guided tours during our off season at 11am and 1pm. VIP Behind The Scenes Tours are available year round by appointment. We close for Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.

Can I volunteer at Timbavati?

We are unable to accept any volunteers at this time.

Can I bring my pet/service dog into the park?

Pets, comfort animals, emotional support animals or therapy animals are not allowed into Timbavati.  Service Dogs are allowed into SOME areas of our park.  Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, “a service animal is a dog that has been individually trained to work or perform tasks for assisting a person with a disability.”  A special Service Animal park map will be provided to the guest.  Dogs must be kept under TOTAL control during visit.  Per WWW.ADA.GOV:  “At a zoo, service animals can be restricted from areas where the animals on display are the natural prey or natural predators of dogs, where the presence of a dog would be disruptive, causing the displayed animals to behave aggressively or become agitated. They cannot be restricted from other areas of the zoo.

Are private tours offered?

We do offer private tours. They begin at 9 am and are by reservation only. A tour of five people is $299 plus applicable taxes, and $50 extra for any additional persons. The tour is roughly 90 minutes in its entirety. 

For the safari train, is animal feed included or separate?

Animal feed is an entirely separate price. It is not included with a purchase of a ticket.
